Custom Knitted Tempestry

A hand-knit Tempestry of your chosen year and location!

Please be sure to include the PLACE and YEAR for which you would like a Tempestry when placing your order.

Please also let us know if there is a particular day that you would like us to mark with clear copper-foil-lined glass beads.

Custom-made Tempestries may take up to take 6-8 weeks to complete.

Tempestries are a visual embodiment of a year’s worth of daily high temperatures. A finished Tempestry will measure about 10” wide and about 4′ long. January is at the bottom, and each day gets a row ending with December 31st at the top of the finished piece.

A single Tempestry makes for a beautiful personalized wall hanging, perfect for commemorating a particular year — perhaps of a birth, a graduation, or a wedding.

Multiple Tempestries make for a striking visual display contrasting places or years, as pictured.

*Temperature data comes from the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, and is available to the public. Please note, the NOAA data sometimes has to be supplemented with data from www.wunderground.com, or from nearby weather stations.
