Original Tempestries are a visual embodiment of a year’s worth of daily high temperatures. A finished Original Tempestry will measure about 10-14″ wide and about 4-5″ long. The size will vary depending on the gauge of the crocheter (though gauge is not important).

A single Original Tempestry makes for a beautiful personalized wall hanging, perfect for commemorating a particular year — perhaps of a birth, a graduation, or a wedding.

We of course used an old-fashioned metal knitting needle to hang ours, but a simple wooden dowel or driftwood or lots of other things would work just as well.

Multiple Original Tempestries, such as the collection we are currently creating for our little corner of the Pacific Northwest, make for a striking historical display of changing temperatures across the years.

-Individually-wound balls of yarn calculated to match the number of days in each temperature range for your selected year/location, with some to spare for each color.
-One color card
-One project label
-One Tempestry project pattern/guidelines
-One Tempestry worksheet (this includes the daily high temperature data for the year and location of your choosing*, the corresponding color for each day’s temperature, and the weather stations from which we retrieved your data
